Hostcore is a module that enables you to play games or access media from your PC. All you need to install this module is a PSP with custom firmware 3.80 m33 or higher, memory stick and USB cable.

Installation

Download the software / modules / driver listed below:

Hostcore 1.22alien.info

USBHostFS_PC Windows version - 2alient.info

PSP Type B DriverMediaFire | Maxconsole Forums (need registration)

libusbsourceforge.net

After all the download complete. Create a folder name PSP on your C: drive (you can select a different name and create it on any drive you like). Now extract HostCore_1.2.tar.gz to the folder you just created. It will create a folder name release. Double click the folder and you will see another folder name Hostcore. Connect your PSP to your PC. Once connected you can copy and paste the Hostcore folder into the root of your PSP memory stick.

After that, browse to your seplugins and open the vsh.txt file using Notepad. If the file doesn’t exist, create one yourself. Now copy and paste the following line to your vsh.txt file.

ms0:/HostCore/hostcore.prx

If your vsh.txt is empty, paste it to the first line but if it has other entry then paste it to a new line after the last entry. Save your vsh.txt and exit Notepad.

vsh.txt

The module won’t run unless you enable it. So boot your PSP into Recovery Mode by holding the R-button while you switch it on. When you are in the Recovery Mode Main Menu select Plugins. In the next screen (Plugins Menu) enable the hostcore.prx. Once enable exit the Recovery Mode.

When everything is okay. Install the PSP Type B driver to your PC and at the same time extract the usbhostfs_win.zip to the PSP folder you created earlier. The usbhostfs.exe won’t run without libusb0.dll so extract the libusb-win32-device-bin-0.1.12.1.tar.gz to C:PSP directory. You can find the libusb0.dll in the C:PSPlibusb-win32-device-bin-0.1.12.1bin directory. Copy it and paste to C:PSP. Before you start the usbhsotfs make sure you created folder name ISO, MUSIC and VIDEO. ISO folder is a folder where you put your backup ISO or CSO games. While MUSIC and VIDEO is a place where you can put your mp3 songs and mp4 videos respectively.

C:Hostcore

Now start usbhostfs.exe by double clicking it (but make sure you have copy all your backup ISO games into C:/PSP/ISO). Connect the USB cable to your PC and start your PSP. Once you are in the XMB, press the note button note_button and select USB mode by pressing left or right directional button.

Windows will detect a new hardware and show the Found New Hardware Wizard, select No, not this time and click Next. On the next screen select Install the software automatically (Recommended) and click Next. Windows will install the required driver. When the driver installation completed click Finish. You will see Connected to device in the Hostcore command prompt.

USBHostFS command prompt

This shows that you successfully connected your PSP to your PC. Now you can access you game or media on your PC from your PSP. Enjoy and Happy Gaming.
